Chrome tab groups are built into the browser and organize tabs inside Chrome windows. Workona adds a workspace model around browser activity and resources. The choice depends on whether a named group of tabs is enough.
Keep native groups for a compact set
Chrome lets you name, color, collapse, close, reopen, and sync saved tab groups when the relevant Google Account sync settings are enabled. Use them when one person needs a handful of recurring pages and the browser’s own group list is easy to maintain.
Understand Close, Ungroup, and Delete before operating on a saved set. Native groups do not become cross-app project records merely because they have names.
Evaluate Workona for a verified workspace need
Review the current Workona product and plan for the resources, workspace switching, backup or restore, collaboration, and account behavior you actually require. Test with disposable pages, then confirm what data is stored or synced and how export or cancellation works. Product capabilities and plan limits change, so do not rely on an old comparison table.
Keep the desktop boundary clear
Both approaches primarily organize browser objects. Wallo can organize the resulting browser window with documents and other app windows, but it does not synchronize Workona workspaces or Chrome groups, and one browser window may change its internal project while retaining the same macOS identity.
