When a switcher appears to open the wrong window, preserve both ends of the action: what the panel showed and which window actually received focus. Without that pair, a similar title or reordered list can look like a matching failure.
Verify the selection before activation
Record the app name, full visible title, thumbnail, display or Space, and position in the switcher. Pause dynamic search and sort changes if the product allows it. If two windows share a title, add a browser window name, document path clue, account clue, or other distinction in the owning app.
Check whether the target still exists
Closing and reopening a document or browser window can create a new system window identity even when the title looks the same. Remove stale assignments and deliberately select the current window. Do not use a fuzzy title match as proof that it is the same object.
Isolate control and ordering
Test the same window through the app’s Window menu or App Exposé. Confirm Accessibility access when focus does not move. Repeat with recent-order sorting and filters fixed. A correct focus to an unexpected row may be a list movement issue; focus to a different object is an identity issue.
Wallo uses current window identity and exact Accessibility matching. Ambiguous matches should be rejected rather than guessed, but every failure does not necessarily produce a unified visible error. Reassign a recreated window and include both selection and focus evidence in support reports.
