When a window becomes too large after changing displays, diagnose the display geometry before editing every app. A different resolution, scaling choice, orientation, or primary-display arrangement can make an old size inappropriate.
Check the display first
Open Displays settings and confirm the connected monitor, chosen resolution, orientation, and extended versus mirrored mode. Arrange the display rectangles to match their physical positions. If the display is not detected correctly, resolve that before moving windows.
Recover a controllable edge
Select the window from its app menu or Mission Control. If the title bar is visible, drag it onto the current display and resize from an accessible edge. Use the green-button Fill or a native tile command to bring a normal window into a known visible geometry, then resize it for the new screen.
If no controllable part is visible, reconnect the former display temporarily or use a trusted window-manager command that moves the active window to the current screen.
Rebuild only persistent geometry
A saved layout can reapply sizes intended for the old monitor. Disable that layout, confirm the manual size persists, and then update the saved rule for the new resolution. Check whether the tool matches by app, title, display, or current position.
Do not confuse this with missing project membership. Wallo does not store geometry, so it should not enlarge a window after a display change. Reproduce the size change with layout utilities isolated.
