“Offline,” “no account,” and “local storage” describe different product properties. An app may keep work files locally while requiring an account for sync, or require one online activation and then work offline without a product account.
Test network dependence
Separate initial download and activation, routine work, validation, updates, support links, and optional sync. Perform an authorized offline test only after normal setup. Record which actions work, which wait, and whether failed checks lock existing work. Do not infer permanent offline support from one short disconnected session.
Identify every account boundary
Ask whether the app itself requires sign-in, whether the store or license provider identifies a purchase, and whether optional cloud services use another account. “No app account” does not mean anonymous payment or no third-party processing.
Map storage by data type
Locate working documents, preferences, credentials, previews, logs, and synced copies separately. Local files may still enter system backups; Keychain storage differs from ordinary preferences; user-created screenshots and clipboard histories belong to their systems.
Wallo has no Wallo account and stores goals and tasks locally. Current licensing requires Internet for first activation and deactivation; a previously verified matching Mac can perform routine work offline under the documented policy. License requests go to Lemon Squeezy, and Wallo does not provide cloud sync. These claims should be retested when distribution or licensing changes.
